The predecessor of the Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Chongqing Medical University (Chongqing Stomatological Hospital) was the "Shapingba Dental Disease Prevention and Treatment Institute" established by the Central Health Experimental Research Institute of the National Government in October 1943. In July 1946, the "Chongqing Dental Disease Prevention and Treatment Institute" was established. In July 1955, the "Chongqing Stomatological Hospital" was established, becoming one of the four earliest provincial and municipal dental hospitals in the country. In July 1995, it was renamed "Chongqing Stomatological Hospital". In July 2001, with the approval of the Chongqing Municipal Government, the hospital was transferred to Chongqing Medical University as a whole and became the Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Chongqing Medical University. The Department of Stomatology was established, and the School of Stomatology was established in 2005.

The college currently has 721 employees, including 649 professional and technical personnel, 125 full-time teachers, including 14 professors, 32 associate professors, 21 with doctoral degrees, and 64 with master's degrees. The college currently has 4 doctoral supervisors (including part-time) and 42 master's supervisors (including part-time). Two teachers are "Chongqing City's Young and Middle-aged Backbone Teachers."

The college consists of eight teaching and research sections, namely, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Endodontics, Periodontology and Mucosal Diseases, Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, Preventive Oral Medicine, Pediatric Dentistry and Basic Oral Medicine, and five teaching groups, namely, Oral Equipment, Oral Professional Foreign Languages, Oral Anatomy and Physiology, Oral and Maxillofacial Imaging Diagnostics, and Oral Materials. The college is responsible for the theoretical and experimental teaching of undergraduate courses in oral medicine.
