The Central Theater Command General Hospital of the Chinese People's Liberation Army is a national Class III Class A hospital. The Central Theater General Hospital was established in November 2018 by adjusting the former Wuhan General Hospital of the Guangzhou Military Region, the 161st Hospital, and the outpatient departments of 8 military units stationed in Wuhan. It is a large-scale comprehensive military tertiary hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, health care, and emergency treatment. It is the first national standardized training base for resident physicians recognized by the National Health Commission and has 22 professional bases.
