“STAR Forum” Spotlight: Framework Nucleic Acid Drug Development

Today, at the invitation of Academician Chunhai Fan from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Yunfeng Lin, the Chief Scientist of Yunhai Biotechnology, delivered a keynote presentation today at the "STAR Forum" at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The presentation was titled "Framework Nucleic Acid Drug Development."

The keynote focused on the development of framework nucleic acid theory and technology, introducing a novel, efficient, and safe framework nucleic acid delivery system for genes and drugs. This system has applications in tissue regeneration, targeted therapy, molecular transport, gene transfer, and drug delivery.

The research revealed that tetrahedral framework nucleic acids possess strong gene and drug delivery capabilities, potentially becoming a new generation of delivery systems after liposomes and viral transfection. This breakthrough holds significant value for scientific research and clinical applications.

Professor Yunfeng Lin’s team has filed over 100 domestic and international invention patents, with more than 50 granted and 45 transferred, generating over 55 million RMB in transfer revenue. Additionally, four Class 1.1 innovative drugs are in the preclinical research stage.
